“Sadness and anger” is all that you are good at, Jellyfish September 23rd, 2007
The Chief Executive Offer of this country is “sad and angry” that a horrible crime was committed against Nurin Jazlin:
Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi expressed sadness and anger yesterday over the brutal murder of Nurin Jazlin Jazimin.
“Nurin Jazlin’s case is most touching. I’m sad and angry,” he told reporters after chairing a meeting of the Police Commission at the Internal Security Ministry in Putrajaya.
Expressing his condolences to Nurin Jazlin’s family, the Prime Minister said police were tracking down the murderer.
Seems that is all what you are good at. “Sad and angry”, eh? It does not take a genius to figure out that this is the result of the lax attitude of the present government, particularly those in the secular-nationalist party, who defy Allah’s Laws and refuse to implement deterrents to would-be offenders. Now what is the punishment for hirabah?

Dr. Wan Azhar bin Wan Ahmad: Malaysian Common Law September 19th, 2007
The Star, 18/09/2007
The Chief Justice of Malaysia, YAA Tun Ahmad Fairuz Sheikh Abdul Halim, in his officiating speech at IKIM’s seminar surrounding ‘Ahmad Ibrahim: His Intellectual Thought and Contributions’ last August, expressed his disappointment over the captive mentality of our legal experts, practitioners, judges and lawyers in reference to the high esteem the aforementioned accord English law, or to be more specific, English Common Law (ECL).
He regrettably noted that despite the fact that our nation has been independent for fifty years now, we still retain, follow and rigidly adhere to s. 3 and 5 of the Civil Law Act 1956 (CLA). The provisions of these two sections prescribe the complete application of ECL for the entire nation.
In reality, many tend to interpret these sections as if we are duty bound to refer to English Law in case of lacuna in our own law. In relation to this, Tun Ahmad Fairuz posits four important questions for us to ponder, particularly by the legal fraternity: (i) Does this condition reflect that this country is bereft of legal expertise? (ii) Does it mean that English Common Law is the best option? (iii) Does it mean that our legal experts are still shackled by the yoke of the colonials (di bawah tempurung penjajah)? (iv) Is it true that our legal scholars are impotent, in other words unable to formulate and develop a legal system better in comparison with ECL? He has called for the Common Law of England to be replaced by our very own common law.
The CJ’s remarks were reported in local dailies nationwide. Amazingly, many commented positively, including some political leaders. But, there were also voices of discontent from certain quarters describing the call to replace ECL as “baseless”.

Islam—what Muslims believe in September 17th, 2007
This is an interesting article that I found on a forum recently. I am unable to find the source, so I’ll just post it here in full with a view that I will accredit it to a source in the future. I have never condoned the horrible atrocities that was committed on the day of September 11th 2001 and the Khawaarij, the extremists in Islam, should be treated with the same disdain and loathing as the Christian missionaries. If I had my way, I will behead a Khawaarij’s head the same way I would to a Christian missionary.
Islam—what Muslims believe in
by Staff Sgt. Amy Parr, Air Force Print News10/09/01 - WASHINGTON—A new word was introduced at the United Nations Summit on Racism in September - “Islamiphobia,” meaning the fear of Islam and Muslims.
This new word represents the fear felt by some who link all people of Islamic faith to the terrorists who hijacked planes and crashed into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Pennsylvania.
The best way for people to overcome those fears is to be informed, said Chaplain (Capt.) Hamza Al-Mubarak, a Muslim chaplain assigned to the 81st Training Wing, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss.
“Ignorance and hate have already cost us thousands of lives,” he said. “Get the information (about Islam) and pass it on to someone you know.” The Quran does not condone acts of terrorism, he said.
“Islam is a religion of mercy and peace, it does not permit or encourage terrorism,” Al-Mubarak said.

Ramadhan mubarak! September 12th, 2007
Ramadhan is derived from an Arabic word for intense heat and scorched ground;
As heat cleanses that which is unclean, may this month cleanse our heart from any impurity within;
As heat that scours the muck off a surface, may this month bar our speech from vain chatter;
As heat that removes foul odour from the air, may this month remove wicked visions from our eyes;
As the heat that welds two pieces of iron together, may this month connect our hand and legs to beneficial things;
As the heat that eradicates the germs from the environment, may this month remove bad thoughts from our mind and replace it with good faith;
And so we ask our Creator for the heat of this month to purify us and return us to the scorched ground where we stand on the last day. On the day when the heat will raze to the scorched ground all our facade which we build with so much effort, and leave us with only that which is within, blown unto us by The Creator on the day of our creation.
Ramadhan Mubarak to all Muslims, minus the Islam Liberals!
